GoPro lap times
Lap times from your GoPro video
The GoPro cameras with GPS record your position and speed in the video file. LapViz reads them: on a circuit it knows, it calculates your lap and sector times, without any other device.
Laps without a laptimer
The GPS of the camera is enough for a first analysis.
- GPS position, speed and altitude read from the .mp4 file
- Laps and sectors calculated on the circuits known by LapViz
- Speed trace and line on the satellite view
Video and data together
Watch the corner while you read the curves.
- Video of the GoPro synchronized by the GPS time with the data of your logger
- Telemetry overlay exported for your video editor
- The video stays on your computer
Frequently asked questions
Which GoPro cameras work?
The GoPro cameras with a GPS that writes the position into the video file.
Are the lap times precise?
They come from the GPS of the camera, less precise than a dedicated laptimer: enough to follow your progress, not to settle a hundredth.
Why is my circuit not found?
Without laps in the file, LapViz calculates them on the circuits it knows only. A missing circuit can be submitted from the circuits page.
Also in the LapViz suite
- Video overlay Add telemetry gauges to your on-board video: track map with ghost, lap times, delta, braking points, G-meter, speed and RPM, ready for your video editor.
- LapViz Studio Analyse the files of your data logger or lap timer in the browser, also offline: lap overlay, delta, channels, track map, math channels and on-board video.
- Lap analysis See where you lose time in each corner: ideal lap from the mini-sectors, braking points, minimum speeds and your progress on each circuit.
